Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Humboldt County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message for the time needed to answer and administer the exchange. It is kept within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the site's systems can automatically receive basic technical and usage information:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Humboldt County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-record data. It publishes general directions to records held by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, local criminal courts, the Nevada State Police RCCD Records Bureau's Central Repository, and the Nevada Public Sex Offender Registry. The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, not this policy. Each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, Nevada courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through their systems and policies.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring performance and traffic
- Search partners processing a query
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Nevada privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights based on the type of data and the entity involved. The Nevada Public Records Act, NRS Chapter 239, governs public records held by state and local agencies, while NRS Chapter 179A controls access to and dissemination of Nevada repository criminal-history information. Those government-record laws do not turn this private website into a records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Object to or opt out of certain processing
- Request deletion where the law permits it
- Ask to correct inaccurate personal information
- Request access to information kept about you
