Why We Built This Site
Nevada does not offer one unrestricted public name portal for all criminal history. Humboldt County records are also split by purpose. The Sheriff controls sheriff-created reports and detention records. Union Township Justice Court keeps misdemeanor, bail, warrant, and preliminary-stage files. The Humboldt County Clerk maintains Sixth Judicial District Court records, while the Nevada State Police Records, Communications and Compliance Division provides a fingerprint-based route for people requesting their own statewide Nevada history. Nevada Department of Corrections and the Nevada Public Sex Offender Registry cover separate parts of the system.
Bringing those distinctions together helps a reader choose the proper official channel before making a call, mailing a request, or visiting a counter in Winnemucca. The goal is practical orientation, with local contacts and access limits stated from government research rather than an assumption that every record sits in one database.
What You Will Find Here
The material focuses on direct, official access routes and the differences among the records they return.
- Agency contacts: verified routes for the Humboldt County Sheriff, local criminal courts, and Nevada record systems
- Official record checks: the fingerprint-based personal request process through the Nevada State Police Records Bureau
- Record guidance: how to locate and interpret Humboldt County court case records
- Record sealing: Nevada terminology, court routing, and the role of a signed sealing order
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of Humboldt County, the State of Nevada, a court, or a law-enforcement agency. Those boundaries limit the services available here.
- We cannot issue a certified court paper, police report, booking record, or state criminal history
- We cannot submit a public-record request, sealing petition, or other form for a visitor
- We cannot perform an official criminal record check for another person
- We cannot interpret a specific charge, provide legal advice, or predict a case result
- We cannot promise that an agency's fee, schedule, address, or phone number has not changed
An official record must come from the office that maintains it, such as the court clerk, Sheriff, Nevada State Police Records Bureau, or another originating agency.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. They control their own results, enrollment terms, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports the cost of keeping the resource available. Humboldt County Criminal History does not set those charges or control the records a partner displays. Readers should verify any result with the Nevada or Humboldt County office that created and retains the original record.
